Configure the app for continuous GPS tracking, even with the screen off. Follow the steps in this guide to ensure the app works correctly throughout the race.
Before using the app, set the location permission to "Always" and enable Precise Location — otherwise GPS tracking stops as soon as the app goes to the background or the screen turns off.
You can check at any time from Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → TrailCore Radar. Make sure Always is selected and Precise Location is enabled.
Enable Background App Refresh both globally and for TrailCore Radar. This setting is required to keep the GPS service active when the app is not in the foreground — for example when the screen is off or you are using another app.
Make sure the main Background App Refresh toggle (at the top of the screen) is also enabled, in addition to the specific toggle for TrailCore Radar.
Putting the app in the background (Home button or swipe up without fully releasing) is correct and does not interrupt tracking. However, closing it from the App Switcher — swiping it all the way up to dismiss it — terminates the process entirely and GPS stops working.
Do not remove TrailCore Radar from the App Switcher during the race — GPS tracking stops permanently and will not restart automatically.
If Low Power Mode is enabled, turn it off before the race: Settings → Battery → Low Power Mode → OFF. This is a system-wide setting and cannot be excluded per app.
